007 / A glacier breaking, the water grasps

A glacier breaking, the water grasps at the falling ice before pushing away in waves. The ripples expand outward, diminishing in intensity while expanding in scope. By the time it reached a distant shore and washed over her toes, Simone couldn't tell it apart from any other wave. So much has washed over her in recent weeks that she hadn't noticed the tide coming in. Watching the water rush back out to sea, she noticed the sand wash away, disappearing in the wave. Her phone rang but she tossed it in the surf and laid back on the wet sand.
